yesterday, i faved you just because you're smokin' hot! ok, kidding aside, let me begin by saying i'm fascinated by your portrayal of the female figure in general. regarding this specific piece, formally speaking, the composition is solid and the quality of print is excellent.
having stated the formal aspects, at first glance, your content appears to be straight forward, i.e. a female lying(posing) on tree roots, more trees, black net clothing and red shoes.
however, on closer examination, your content is loaded with connotations, paradoxes, dualities and, even, transcendence. for instance, the tree is vertical representing the masculine. the model is obviously feminine. the tree and roots are cold, hard and dark; she is warm, softer than the tree and light in complexion. most interestingly, her pose mimics the tree - her legs are the roots and her torso is the tree. ontologically, is she transcending the male/female duality?
the fact that you use the female as the focus is intriguing. so is the fact that she is both seductress and - by having her chin raised - defiant. of course, this brings into question of the issues regarding 'the gaze'. is the model being objectified? or, by her defiant gaze at the viewer is she objectifying us? in general terms, the woman connotes that which nurtures and gives life (so do the roots of a tree). also, the feminine is a spiritual guide and sign of seduction.
the choice of red and black is dichotomous. the red is life, lust and love. on the other hand, black is void, empty and lifeless.
this is a VERY interesting piece and a pleasure to critique.
